Oxymoron World
Social distancing is an oxymoron
Social: needing companionship and therefore best suited to living in communities
Distance: an amount of space between two things or people
We were made to be together
We were made for contact
Technology is failing to fill in these gaps
Anxiety is brought on by the disturbing facts
Life is turning into a series of attacks: illness, boredom, panic
They all come at once and there’s no safe arms to run to
This virus is not the only threat
Fear and isolation kill too, just at a slower rate
How do we live like this?
This poem is about:
My community
My country
Our world
