A plea is born not of an open mouth but of stitched lips and a heart that has been shot open by some unfortunate misfire.
An unfair cruelty beaten upon an innocent person is how so many hearts are torn.
Worst nightmares are resurrected with the words you hoped you'd never hear.
And you first respond with, "Oh God!" and then a sad rush of tears.
Wishing it all away, you hope the truth won't stay.
You cry, scream, and plead, "Please, Lord, make it all go away."
On our knees, into our beds knowing it will soon be okay.
