childhood is too precious and they're just throwing it away now a-days

Theres something about the way you feel when getting mail doesnt excite you anymore

when it goes from birthday cards  from your grandma

to junk mail and bills

Theres something about the way that early mornings, turn from sneaking down stairs to catch a glimpse of santa

into cups of coffee black, and five a.m. wake up calls.

gotta rush to make the train,

grab the dry cleaning, and dont be late.

How can childhood slip away so easily

here one morning and gone the next.

crampt, stuffy, hard to breathe in cubicles

a sea of faces blank and drained

emotionless.

Theres something wrong with children being put down for being children for seventeen years

and then suddely being forced to grow up and make these decisions that drasticly change their life

How am i going to decide on what i want to do for the rest of my life

when I dont even know how to balance a check book

Priorities these days,

man, theyre fucked up.

excuse my language

but theres no excuse for this new society.

Youre a grown ass man and you just took the innocence of someone who couldnt say no

someone who trusted you

they might not understand, and they might not speak up

but something inside of them changed

and thats because of you.

How can childhood slip away so easily

here one morning and gone the next.

childhood, hold onto it while you can.

As for these decisions i need to make today

I guess im as ready as ill ever be.

but if i could go back and try again,

do things differently,

i would, man.

Childhood is too precious and they're just throwing it away now a-days
