Always "I"

Ecclesiastes 7:20

20 Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins.

Sin: always has “I” in the middle …

One more laid to rest … a little part of my pride

There is still enough left to kill the soul of many

Always second best with many things to hide

Yes we are bereft … as only a  few cares if any

“Bonjour Tristesse” farewell … I’ll keep you close by me

When I ring the bell … please come rushing in

Then I will tell … the one I really want to be

So I can mirror the selfish “self” that I’ve always been

Living on the shadow side of deep emotions

Drinking all the tears discarded by lack of love

Then with all my might, I’ll fake some devotion

To impress my peers and the ones I’m thinking off
