A Lone Heart's Cry

A lone heart's cry,
Soft and sweet,
Beckoning to you,
But you won't listen.

Instead just a smile,
A wave,
A nod,
Then a goodbye,
Gone.

I'm tired of chasing,
Of wanting,
Of waiting.
Just tell me the truth,
Set me free,
End my pain.

My lone heart cries,
Soft and sweet
But no longer calling,
Yearning for your ear.

Now to stand alone:
Trapped in the deafening silence.
To love,
To live,
To breathe,
To die.

My lonely heart starts to beat,
Soft and slow,
A thud,
A thud,
Until it beats no more.
