THEY CAME

They came........

They came!

From many foreign shores,

From uncertain pasts;

Half way round the world,

They came,

Unknown futures,

Unknown times,

In ships of wood and sail

Where the albatross trail,

They came,

They built,

Futures for themselves,

Their children,

Their children’s children,

And generations forth,

And still they came!

To this rugged land

Neath Olde Southern Cross,

They stripped and ploughed

Olde Mother Earth,

Then planted,

Then harvesting bountiful crops,

They came,

Now their part of Australia's history,

Father,

Mother,

Daughter,

Son and many more!

They’ve come

From many foreign shores.....
