Theft of an Innocent Ignorance

Rain brings memories of a childhood

disturbed,

turned into nothing worth mention.

Drawing attention to thoughts

of things had that never crossed

her mind

were possible,

at one time.

Ignorance was mine!

She screamed inside..

Mine to define, and give meaning,

but kindess gave way to the blindness

that triggered the senses of a nemesis

greater than any ever to be faced.

The wall he created between her and her allies

built high as the bricks and grit that created the Great Wall,

She was defenseless.

Defenseless,

against this

menace

to her sese of self

Forced to numb out the emotion,

like ice to a bruise, only this one

never healing.

Always black and blue to her soul..

Thinking

He will never truly know

what he stole.

An irretrieveable understanding

of how a man should be

to me.

Should he respect me?

I dont know ...

Should his love be true?

I  hope so...

but the truth is, although

it seems shes coping,

shes just hoping

no one notices

how broken

she really is, but she let him

take what she had

she cant

let him win

so she keeps going
