It's All Up To You

A young woman with a story

of that like an elder

When I start to unfold

My heart

what is held there

I find

A journey

of innocence

Bliss

Happiness

Transfigured into

Heartbreak

Not understanding

How to trust

How to love

How to share

Again

A little girl

with a world

Held in her hands

Gazing

upon the sand

of the Beach

Wondering

if the ocean

Ever ends

How the waves

know when

to rise and descend

Like musical

melodic

lines

Keeping rhythm

and time

Creating

Something beautiful

Or does the sky

just prentend

to be blue

Somewhere growing up

I found God

Well

He found me

Taking my broken heart

Making His light shine through

Showing me how wonderful it is to be

Something I thought I couldn't do

Because I had to be like her

So I could get attention from him

I had to act like this

Diss

What I knew

To be true

Even myself

All for what I thought

was

happiness

But it turns out

This rhythm

countinued

Like the waves

flowing

Towards the shore

The more

I grew

The less

I knew

About me

Wondering around

Lost

Asking myself the question

Who am I

Searching

Trying to discover

Uncover

What is enfolded

Upon my heart

Where did I even start

This journey

Because to know who you are

You have to know where you came from first

And what I found

was beautiful

peace

Untouched by

the struggles of life

The sacredness of innocence

All within

Keeping my heart

Pumping

And this is where I began

To understand

"It is all up to you"

To know the truth

Of who I am
