A Cry for Humanity
To Humanity,
He walks outside to the rising sun
The sky’s golden rays like paint.
A brisk winter wind blows
The chilling breath is faint.
For he dreams of the future,
An empty day to be filled with design
A clear blue sky lies ahead,
But a storm breeds beyond the coastline.
The day dredges on,
And his focus remains steady,
But the clouds are dark
And the tempest is now ready.
Cold droplets pelt his cheek
As his vision blurs from rain,
The Storm crackles overhead.
The Storm reigns.
The darkness lived in the light.
He wishes for a brand new day.
If only he had looked earlier.
But it is far too late.
There are problems we see
Yet, we ignore the issue.
We worry about the small things
And not about our own tissue.
We say slavery is gone
That the new age has begun.
But people still cry in bondage
Acknowledge it before it can't be undone.
With a hopeful heart,
