To the girl who was blue

To the girl who was blue,

Blue is all you’ve ever known,

all you’ve ever been.

Every memory, every decision, and every breath

is coated in it.

Your regrets, pain, and feelings

drown in it.

Blue’s grip on you is so tight

that you can’t even acknowledge any other color.

It runs through your brain

tainting anything that could be good.

Pulling you under

and suffocating you.

Yet saving you at the same time

because without you it couldn’t exist.

It would never go as far as hurting you

or would it?
