One is the Loneliest Number
To the loneliest number, One,
You can keep on being alone.
It was all fake, the way you shone,
Trying to pull me towards you,
All decorated in gold and blue.
Those colors define the sun in the sea
But the ocean means nothing to me
When I have a plethora of jade
That mean more than just a grade.
A status of Valedictorian
Would mean nothing to a historian,
When I’m gone they would see to carefully explore
All of the kindness I always had in store.
Or winning a contest to get first prize -
That’s terrible pride in an evil disguise.
Every time I finish the race first,
It creates inside me a greater thirst.
The only One I need
Is One that will bleed
With friendship and love
That I’m proud to speak of.
So no more lies and scheming
I’m going back to freely dreaming
You are the dark, I’m chasing the sun
Say goodbye, I’m finished, One.
Good riddance,
The girl you almost destroyed
