How I Came To Love

How I came to love you:

That is no mystery.

From the first moment I saw you,

Heard you laugh,

I knew the way life was before had become history.

You've bewitched me,

I have been charmed.

I've completely fallen,

Helpless,

Yet unharmed.

You've harbored me.

You've made me feel safe,

Loved, wanted.

Special.

How have I repaid you?

What have I done?

To earn all of your trust,

And have it all turn to dust.

I've broken your heart-

A countless number of times.

But every time yours breaks,

So does mine.

But how do I show you?

How can I make you know?

I beg of you,

Feel my love

Without my kisses.

Know my heart pounds

For you,

But at a distance.

We are bound together,

You and I,

We are intertwined.

Thus when I die,

You cry.

This is not the physical death

I know you crave,

No.

Death to earthly desires begets true happiness.

How can I make you know?

How do I make you feel?

I so wish

For you to come with me.

"I love you," I whisper.

Yet you do not believe.

But I so do.

I so do.

I care where you will be eternally.

Of course, I want you in the now,

But I also want you in the always.

How can I make you know?

How do I make you feel?

My love for you.

The kind it is.

There is no greater love I can impart.

To you,

My dear,

Comes nothing but love.

Straight from the heart.
