The Land FORSAKEN
My heart beats as a scream for peace.
I cannot draw a choked whisper up my throat.
I would crumble for you, and you for him
Drain away my soul to relieve your pain.
Words of comfort are trapped in tears
Only shed for the demon-thronged battles faced.
Screaming, screaming for peace
Blown away by a forgotten wind
To the land called FORSAKEN.
The dying live there: don't stay.
Blood has been drawn savagely from tenderness
So we pretend the scars are callouses.
Simply, an excuse to lie about the pain.
It hurts to shatter--
Fragile porcelain dropped on gruesome, concrete reality.
You choke down the cry for help.
I squeeze to release the screams in your heart.
