Quicksand Can’t Affect You If You’re Flying
They say they thirst for rain that never touches the ground
and prophetic visions from mortals who aren’t hell-bound
yet gnats fly out of their mouths whenever you look away
and they taunt you for having colors, for not being gray.
Words, like grainy sand, pull you in and drag you under,
into the creepy, crawly hands of cruel creatures.
And simply because you have the eccentric features
of a risk, a peril, a threat, a mother’s blunder.
Crayon drawings are offering false security,
and gifting means to those of immaturity.
They, in time, will be nothing but obscurity
while you'll be golden- full of positivity.
