Dying to self

Galatians 5:1-5

5 For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then,

and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.

Listen! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised,

Christ will be of no benefit to you at all!

And I testify again to every man who lets himself be circumcised

that he is obligated to obey the whole law.

You who are trying to be declared righteous by the law

have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace!

For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait expectantly for the hope of righteousness.

Satan will be unemployed if the flesh is under the power of death

Crucified with Christ to God ... yep that is the daily test

Satan really does not mind ... if the flesh remains good

As we try to keep it alive ... and that’s well understood

It will drive us to sin again ... there is no mistaking

For the bad and the good in me needs burying by the undertaker

Without death of the both of them ... the Spirit lacks full control

And whatever we may try ... it will be far from fully whole

To serve God in your strength ... is not serving Him at all

You be serving sin instead ... no faith needed in call

Don’t be a debtor to the law … like the past long forgone

For why would you get back ... being just another pawn?
