I lived in a world of darkness.
I didn't know where to turn.
I was told that no one would love me
I was told that I was selfish and rude.
I was forever threatened.
I was forever afraid.
I waited for the next time he would blow up and direct his anger my way.
I thought that there was no light at the end of the tunnel.
Turns out I was looking the wrong way.
There was a glimmer of light in the distance, but it was still quite far away.
I worked at my goal without stopping,
Even though I was quite afraid.
It took forever to complete,
But it was worth my while and wait.
The people who helped me are my angels.
They do not know how much they've done.
I finally escaped from the evil.
I finally realized my worth.
I know I am loved by my family.
I know I wanted by my friends.
I know I am loved by my savior.
For he is the one who truly helped me win.
