Starving
Location
Something shivers
Something shakes
You watch it crawl
You watch it quake
Why don't you help it?
Why do you just sit
Watching
Waiting
For what?
Who would help?
That poor, helpless creature
Something that strikes terror
And a little bit of pity
Yet you are glad it's not you
That is why you wait
But what about them?
How do they feel
While you're waiting
Watching them hurt
They scramble and recede
To weak to do more
Pity in your eyes
You help her up
But she is afraid
Because you just waited
She did not receive help
Until now
Until it was too late
To fill her childrens' starving bodies
And they fade away too
Now you just sit
Sorrowed by what you saw
But it would have been prevented
If you would have helped
If more people were willing
But those ifs do you
No good
Now
