Poem: Growing Pains

I greet this day waking

up from reality, remembering

this is my world, shaking

to it's core.

Taking a look at this view,

seeing what this world is coming

to, because I greet the day,

chasing what I want to create.

I may bow to the king

but I deserve the crown.

I greet the day, hands

out, knees on the very

ground.

Every diamond

becoming the milestone,

to continue on,

too greet the day, I run from.

From the bottom of my

heart, I swear too God,

I greet the day, blowing

hope through a ring

of smoke.

I greet the day,

with everyone wanting

to become a rapper

and I hate it.

After so many adolescene

years, blood, sweat and tears,

have finally shown me what

music really is, as I greet

the day, with wasted tears

of an angel's face.

Pushing through each

chapter of a book, I

greet the day, looking through

the eye's of a sinner's.

My heart has only

one love like serena

and venus, greeting

the day.

Hip-hop and jazz,

smooth playing,

as I greet the day,

with each step I take.

Doing everything

I can do, before I meet

the cemetery, writing

each poem with some

patience.

I greet the day,

giving what I could

give, dreaming the dreams,

with the addiction to write

poetry.

Judge by my skin tone,

breaking a cycle, when your

logic intervenes, greeting

the day, assuming the greatest

even fall.

Realizing I have nothing

to fear, nothing has changed

but the damage, I greet

the day with on my very arms.

I greet the day with some

sunshine but what is life

without a little rain.

I greet the day, saying

Mama I made it,

trying to pull me from

the right way.

Not half the person,

I used to be, but I greet

the day like it was just

yesterday.
