The Sun
My alarm sounds.
I rush outside,
Dressed for the weather,
Just to treasure a few moments
Of Heaven.
I gaze, amazed,
As the colors rising from the East
Light up the sky with
Brilliant blues and
Youthful yellows.
I must leave,
But I will return tonight
For the final parting show.
…
The air becomes breezy and cool
As day turns to night.
The sun that was so high in the sky
Is settling into its nest for the evening.
The colors are different,
Softer,
As if saying
Good night.
I wave good bye to
The paradisal purple in harmony with
The passionate pink.
Then,
It is gone as soon as it came.
The colors are taken over by the dark.
But no need to worry.
I will jolt out of bed tomorrow morning,
And witness everything,
All over again.
