Salsa, not the chi

I spend my weekends reminding kids

that it's ok to feel alone..

to not know where you're going..

to be without a home.

I work at a teen shelter

And there's more bad than good.

My job is to provide aid in crisis

so teens can live the life they should.

After work I'm filled with emotions

from those I've met and those I've seen.

Dancing is the only way

to make me feel serene.

Salsa -not the chip-

is the style that fuels my fire.

Ten minutes on the dance floor

and my mood is ten times higher.

I love my job and what I do,

but it really takes its toll.

Dancing, briefly, everyday

is what keeps me whole.
