The Grade: Ruler of all
Grades are the only way to reach the top.
I sweat and work until I hear my pencil drop.
College is a necessity, it's what I need.
I know I'll eventually have a family to feed.
The pain my children would feel, as if it was written in braille.
A hard knock life, if their father was to fail.
I tried my best in school, but they'll never see.
Nothing but a failure is what I'm destined to be.
A feeling of despair when my math grade dives.
Why? Because these grades control our lives.
But will colleges ever see the greatness in me?
Or is a working class dad, all I'm destined to be?
