I Lost Not One, But Two
For the girl whose laughter filled the room,
And the boy with the eyes, so brilliantly blue,
In the silent graves and the darkest tomb,
We in the starlight remember you.
We remember the way she splashed in the pool,
And the sound of the beautiful music he made,
The taste of his lips, so sweet and cool,
We remember the terrible price that they paid.
She of the radiant, love-filled smiles,
And he of the crushing lovers embrace,
They should have gone for miles and miles,
But instead they left this horrid place.
Now they dance in the stars and live on the moon,
While we scream here-that it ended too soon.
