Daydream

Here the date in March 10, 2015.

I am looking forward to the grass turning green.

All the white melting away,

And hearing the sound of child’s play.

Finally shedding the winter coat

And trading it for a shiny boat.

Cruising around with the top down

And wearing a long sleeveless gown.

Enjoying the warm sweet smell of fire

While trying to hide the smelly perspire

From a long jog around town.

Turning to homeward bound

Lobster, shrimp, clams and fish,

All types of seafood on a single dish.

Sneezing as the allergies settle

From the blooming azalea petals.

Camping around a forest scene

Surrounded by a smoky screen,

Itching the obnoxious mosquito bites

While the sunny day quickly settles into night.

Settling in a sleeping bag outside

A glance over at you, starry-eyed.

Summer is a great time and all that,

But it’s only March, and I still wear a hat.
