Forgo the worm, my friend,
If that’s what I should call you.
Keep peaceful in your sleep,
The morning glory is no sight to see.

Dream of things that cannot be,
I shall not disturb thy slumber.
Perhaps you’ll waken soon
To find me still in the afternoon.

Storms may rage amid the night
And continue into the morn,
And even then shall I remain
To prove my worth to you.

Forget me not if I depart
For tomorrow I’ll appear once more,
Leaving your side only to rest
But never far from the heart.
