Coffee Thoughts
The teardrops of the sky filled the windows
As I made the steam of my coffee rise.
I pondered all of my life’s loves and lies.
These thoughts reminded me of times of discos
We’d dance til’ we forgot the pained solos.
I now hide my love and pain in the sighs.
I swirl my pain into coffee as cries.
The sounds of bells brought me back from sorrows.
A young man stepped in and sat before me.
He said “Tell me your story” and I began.
I told him of sugary wants and needs,
Creamy desires such as to just be,
Bitter and thin sins that I would love to plan,
And then I told him I am my coffee pleads.
