I stand upon the endless shore,
Gazing at the great beyond,
Soaking every open dream it holds,
Hearing its endless song.

The cool water laps softly at my end,
SInking me into the wet, warm sand,
I feel the vapor brush against my bare skin,
And the soft breeze brush through my clothes.

And I think of how perfect this day may be,
Alone against the open sea,
The rising sun it beckons me to come and see
what I may find out there.

I know not where the horizon leads,
Or what may lie beyond,
Could bring adventure and glory,
Could bring loss and pain,
But even if my great ship is torn by heartless winds,
I find joy in the journey, that I may go down in a blazing fight
Rather than being swept away while standing on the shore.

But whatever may come,
I still find peace in the awesome power
of ocean waves.
