Pilgrim's Progress

To start in a dream, innocence

            Revelation leads to believing

Begin the journey, in Destruction not content

To leave a place with family

            Don’t run when trouble comes

            Move past the world’s wisdom

            Must continue to be freed

All paths differ but one remains true

At the Cross, we are relieved

It is there, we are renewed

Only through Him, will we enter

            No shortcuts will be allowed

Faith shall be tested again, and again

            Temptation shall arise in all

            Don’t turn away in fear

Walk in the shadow of the Light

            All are on a journey

            The correct path, though different,

            Will continue in difficulty

            Watch and beware falsity

            Persecution shall come, as promised

            We must stand apart

It will be hard, and painful

            It will always be worthwhile

            Death shall constantly be around

Satan will try to turn us

            We must find rest

            In God and His salvation

            Resist Vanity

            Stay far from Despair

Rest in He who gives it

            Beware the hypocrites

            Flattery in a dangerous path

Be not ignorant of what is ahead

            Blessed are those who believe

Blessed are they who travel despite trials

            The journey is long

            It shall be trying

We shall hear the joyous song

            Our worthwhile reward for believing
