Colorblind

With you,
I was colorblind
Out of the rainbows
That you contained
I chose to see only 3
I saw red
Because every time I looked at you
Everything within me burned with a fiery passion
I saw blue
Because
I saw the sorrows and the sadness
Of you and I
And how the mending of the both of us was created by this blue
The last of the three
Was grey
Not merely a color,
But
With you, I was always inbetween
I knew how to love and hate
Both at the same time,
But I also knew nothing of love or hate, not even in the slightest
And
With the small strokes of "i miss you"
and the gentle clasps of "i will always need you"
I never knew anything that I really wanted
With you
I never saw green
Or yellow
There was never a fresh meadow with sunflowers
Or a new day
I only saw the red sun
And
I only saw the blue sea;
I only saw the drowning
Of the three colors you had captured
There must have been more.
There must have been a full rainbow,
I just never saw it
