Summer Storm

Location

The bombs blasting all on the dreamlike ground
Everyone is in hiding from the cold fear
The earth shaking by the vibrative pound
The chilled screams of loved ones is all I hear.

The flash tempts the soldiers final retreat
But the chief assures that it is alright
This gave the thoughts of feeling like dead meat
With restless stomachs continued to fight.

As the brawl goes on it's harder to move
The effort to win makes it worth while
The battle not won shows nothing to prove
Though the soldiers gave each a foul smile.

Mom calls me because my clothes are all wet
Told her that was the best thunderstorm yet.
