Eyes That Never Smiled
I once met a boy name Aeon Kahro
Who was quite a remarkable boy.
The little ones did love him so
For he always shared his toys.
To the bigger kids he was respected
And mothers and fathers loved him much.
But I guess that’s to be expected
From a boy who never misbehaved or such.
He would always have a smile on his face
And was kind to each and every soul.
He did his duties with blissful grace
And got everything at Christmas except coal.
He fared the ladies in the refinest sense
And gentlemen greeted him at his front door.
The townspeople hailed him wherever he went
And I doubt everyone else was loved more.
But I noticed something that was quite amiss
When I knew him during that past, short while.
Though he appeared to be happy, the strange thing was this:
Aeon Kahro had eyes that never smiled.
