She sits alone with darkness as her home,

she cares for something more, to caress her soul

and keep her whole. She waits for him to know.

Such dreams her heart holds deep, no one to come.

 

She longs for love no longer there, he left,

with bottle at hand, leaving very fast.

he’s gone forever lost in times of past

recollections. The unknown man, bereft.

 

Coward, one kid too many. Not enough

muscle to stay but still enough to maul.

So young yet so old, as being mom takes toll.

The heart is pulled in each direction; rough.

 

A helpless misery of a short life.

A life that’s hell, so long yet still, so brief
