A Moment in Time

Today as I sat, I thought I saw you
That face, the smile, & the beautiful eyes that stared fathomlessly into mine
You gestured so fevereishly & urgently like you wanted...no needed to see me
I called out your name with the faintest hope that it would really be you
Acting foolishyly I ran out to meet you
To run into those arms and have you embrace me
Have you to hold me, care for me, and finally want me
But it wasn't you... You weren't there
It was simply my imagination painting a vivid picture of you
Pinpointing my greatest desire from the very deep part of my soul
I thought it was you...I wanted it so badly to be you
But you weren't there...you never were
