Socks
What is this, but what could it be?
Besides a three-tailed-thing-a-ma-he.
No, no, no, no, I’ve got it all wrong
It’s a two-tailed-toe-licking-song
But that, oh no, could never be
no toe-licking-songs or thing-a-ma-he’s
But this my friend is the most special of all
this right here a sock great appall.
Do not argue with me I say
for this will make a great wonderful say
a sock finds many jobs to do
one for her, or him, or you.
Now you may ask what can it do?
This sock is special, but no more than you.
If you put this sock where it is thought to belong
It holds the warmth...but not for long.
What if this sock did come to freeze
Then your foot may begin to sneeze
but if we put the sock somewhere else
It may leave your foot in better health
What if we try upon your hand
Hmm now this to me makes a plan
in this place i think we found
a better spot for socks to sound
Now forget your useless feet
and listen to your new puppet speak
But now what happens when your hands tire
what comes next these socks that inspire
place a sock on each one of your ears
and tell me what you start to hear
The roaring sound of an elephant trunk?
Oh yes! Yes! Yes! No socks full of stunk.
For if these things are on your head
They wont hold the stick from the feet to dread.
But when your ears can’t find the noise
Where do we put these socks full of joys?
If our feet are too cold, and hands too tired
our ears cannot hear, now what’s inspired.
What about our knobby knees?
Could socks find this a spot to please?
What about around the wrist?
Could socks give this new trend a twist?
And now that you know that socks are not boring
I never want to hear you snoring
Socks are special never meant to ignore
So pull your socks out of your seclusive drawer!
