?

When darkness comes to sweep you away

Where are you?

Who do you run to without the light of day?

You think you have a clue

But deep in your soul

Who are you?

When everything fades to black

Does your heart cry out?

What does it say?

When you can no longer see the path ahead

Do you let someone else hold the flashlight

Or hide underneath the sheets?

Are you brave enough to walk it alone?

When the time comes to be strong

Do you doubt your skill

Or are you simply wrong?

Is now the time to kill

Your worry and sorrow

For the sake of tomorrow?

Can you fill in the words?

Can I?

*This one is actually called Questions. I chose to officially title it a question mark because that symbol alone awakens the deepest and most philosophical questions we didn't even know were lying inside us. This poem is all about questioning. Looking at yourself through an honest, unwarped mirror. My personal philosophy is to question everything. Be curious. (And it wasn't curiosity that killed the cat; it was carelessness.) Anyway, the question mark itself causes us to question; to seek answers and gain wisdom. To discover something great inside ourselves. That's what this poem is all about.
