Before I slip

Into the depths

A fading wisp

Of life bereft

The words we shared

The poetry

Of souls ensnared

 

In a world where dawn

Leads only

To dusk

 

Eternal rest

Is closing in

Now at long last

I can begin

 

To free my heart

Into the sky

Become a part

Of something high

 

Through galaxies

My soul may soar

A flowing breeze

Passed through the door

 

No longer one

With our sad world

My time has come

My life unfurled

 

And so I leave

I’m going home

And please believe

You’re not alone

 

In a world where dusk
