My heart is not a tattoo worn

proudly on my shoulder for all to admire

My heart is not a toy plane to be tossed

about in the wind or trampled under little boy feet

My heart is a wild animal, a tiger fighting

free of its cage of stone and steel and bone

My heart is a nebula constantly expanding

attracting and reflecting stardust

My heart will not wrinkle and shrivel up with age

My heart will not crumple from overuse

And though carneys and astronomers alike may

marvel at this shrine to all that is untamed and beautiful

My heart is only yours.
