"I was wondering, would you like to go out with me?" I said

and freeze like I've got bad reception, but you smile and look at the ground blushing.

And as the blood darkens your cheeks this wonderful-funderful light spills from within.

And its amazing, crazy to me, to see the picture show spawned from the button click of a smile.

And as I flip through the photos of past flirtations I find it impossible not to grin.

You are the greatest program ever devised, the only of your kind ever televised,

and if someone would only flip to your channel, they'd know you've got it all, a total package,

or wonder-fundle-bundle and the cable company would say.

And its amazing, crazy to me, to see someone like you

checking to see if my bundle is wonder-fundle too.

I stare at your screen, watching the affection form in your eyes.

I just grin in reply as you nod, but in my mind I'm hearing "We are the champions."

But I pause the show  there, scared to go on waiting for a surprise from Shyamalan,

but play on because in that moment Cruise and Pitt don't have a thing on me,

for I've just landed a major role in the greatest show in history.

But me being the type of guy to quote a Cox commercial in his poem,

I can't help but "Yeah BABY yeah" as soon as you're turned around,

and hit the mute just a second too late.

You toss your hair and laugh cutting through the static of the world,

And I join in not because that was supposed to be funny, but because now I have excuse to be “hilarious.”

So here goes.

What did the policeman say to his tummy?

"You’re under a-vest!”.

Ah, good, you’re actually supposed to laugh there

But if you don’t, it won’t bother me I swear,

I mean you were already sweet enough to say yes,

So I guess if you’ve got no sense of humor I’ll cut you a break

because I know from experience a show this great should be watched and shared and cared about.

Now, lets rewind to the present where

I'm sitting two seats back and one over haplessly writing a poem you'll probably never hear,

And yet I think its time for this plot to twist starting next time we're airing.

What should the pilot episode be?

I mean I don't even know if your cable or dish,

If you like the bundles from Cox or the packages from DirectTV,

But its amazing, crazy to me, I don't know if you'll find me funny,

Or blush and look down, toss your hair, be as graceful as you seem (sometimes),

If you can sing, what your favorite music and movies are.

I don't know any of these things about you, but I'd like to.

And I learned long ago to make sure you see the best shows,

And since I can't record you like my DVR's do I was wondering,

If you'd like to go out too?
