Story Untold
I was just kidding
Are words always told
But nobody knows
How the story unfolds
Bruises on her skin
Her hope last night beaten
Cant even remember
The last time she's eaten
But she's too thin
she's probably anorexic
And she never says a word
So she's probably dyslexic
On the other side
there's a boy with a dream
But it can't be unleashed
For they're as tattered as—
His clothing unwashed
His his shoes are in tatters
But the very next meal
Is the only thing that matters
But it's not okay to be poor
They can surely do more
Are words
That he has heard many times before
But his fathers in jail
And his mother gunned down
For his siblings,
he's the only one still around
Her arms striped red
His tears hold the pain
Both suffering from loss
and emotional drain
Leaning off the cliff
Heart palpitations in the chest
They jump
Spread their arms
And hope for the best
Perhaps if the others
didn't choose to judge
But instead said hi
and gave them a nudge
For that one simple hi
could have saved two lives
And there wouldn't be the need
To have to say goodbye
The others would have known this
If the took the time to notice
Because the the first glance
Is never the full story
So bite your tongue
And do it in hurry.
Cause words always hurt
Every single time
Especially when
no one knows the true story.
