the flower

I sit and watch / as the petals fall / i listen to them / the ones in my head / they drive me crazy / (am i crazy?) / but id be lost / without them / they tell me the flower / the one im watching / is dying on the outside / but on the inside / its just learning to live / whys it dying / i ask the voices / and they tell me its tired / tired of what? / its just a flower after all / tired of trying / i question the voices / and their sanity / whats the flower trying to do? / as i watch the petals / the voices answer / they tell me about the flower / and all its been through / loosing her sister / and her brother / going to foster care / and through abuse / not just physical / but emotional, and mental too / and as i listen / to the flowers story / i look deep into the petals / i see a reflection / blue eyes with green / eyes so familiar / my eyes? / yes, my eyes / and somethings falling / not petals, no / tears are falling / from those sad eyes / and the voices fade / and the flowers gone / i see just the eyes / in the bathroom mirror / there was never a flower / never any petals / as for the voices? / well i think it was just one / my voice, telling my story / its hurts to hear / but it must be said / before i die / cause i will / ill die / soon too / just like the flower / (was the flower real?) / on the outside ill be dead / but on the inside / ive learned to live
