An ode to Wednesday

Wednesday. Wen-nes-day. Wednesday!

Wednesday is the day before Thursday

It is the day that two greek gods crossed paths

Wednesday is when murcury met Woden…

Wednesday is the beginning of hopefulness

it ensures that Friday will soon be here!

I like wednesday because it always seems to sneak up

Wednesday is a crafty snake that won't bite

it is the middle sibling of Thursday and Friday

Hmmm...Wednesday. It is such a mellifluous word

when you say it, it’s so smooth…. like chocolate

pouring from a fondue fountain or syrup pouring out of

the bottle. This specific day of the week never gets all the

praise Friday does, Friday, Friday, Friday. Wednesday is like

the second step leading to your door, without the second step

you would have a whole lot of trouble reaching your destination

wouldn’t you?  The little things in the world, like that ant you probably stepped on

this morning, or the girl you always see but never greet, those things matter.

What if that ant was relied on to feed the whole colony? or what if that girl is

one of the coolest people… think about it.

Maybe this poem seems stupid because it’s not deep in it’s meaning or

it doesn’t make you feel emotional...well whatever.

I am just stating that the world couldn’t revolve without wednesday.

It couldn’t revolve with out things that aren’t center stage...then again maybe

you can relate, maybe you are wednesday….maybe you too feel this way?
