Just Because I'm a Teenager

Just because I’m a teenager

Doesn’t mean I’m addicted to Twitter

Doesn’t mean I’m glued to my smart phone

And doesn’t mean I’m “losing touch with the real world”

Just because I’m a teenager

Doesn’t mean I’m lazy

Doesn’t mean I don’t care about real issues

And doesn’t mean I’m inherently a stupid person

Just because I’m a teenager

Doesn’t mean I don’t have problems

Doesn’t mean all I do is goof off

And doesn’t mean my age can undermine my problems

Just because I’m a teenager-

I can’t think for myself?

You know better than me?

I can’t possibly have real problems?

Just because I’m a teenager
