Dear Childhood,
I had been
wrapped
In your warm, comforting arms
For seventeen years
But then, as the minutes ticked away to midnight
I felt your grip loosen
as you prepared
The day after the graduation
6/10
Visited the best friend at a college house
Got to catch up and had a spontaneous time
11 o'clock
Was told to close my eyes
I checked my phone countless times that day.
You never called.
For the next week I was glued to my phone waiting for the day you would call to apoligize.
You never called.
