I went to a new school When I was six years old One day our teacher got a call Hide. Is what we were told   Kids went under desks and into closets Hide anywhere you can!

How many more need to die? I wonder why. I wonder how many families cry because The till is filled, but even still One bullet, two kills.
It’s sickening. Makes me want to vomit. Makes me wonder what this Earth wants And why everyone’s on it. 2018 was supposed to be The year I graduate,
Safety. Does it even exist? High schools, middle schools, elementary's at risk. the gun in her bag went off but it was only a prequel three more kids 12-year-old girl shot four people.
Note: This poem is not based off real people or events, any resemblance is completely coincidental.   Tomorrow is Thursday I’ll be remembered, in my own way.

A school shooting so damn close to home I know everyone says it but You never expect it to happen so close to you. Always seems so far away when it's on the news Until it happens to you
The clocks were pointing at twelve.   Lunch Period. Nobody knew about the kid crying in the bathroom stall. He pressed a revolver to his temple, waiting for the courage to sieze him.
I did the right thing.   It became clear that no one else shared my concern. There was a gun In my dorm Somewhere behind a closed door
Uninspired Unwelcome America has never been great I banged my head against walls To get out of school Because I couldn’t face my abusers anymore
Two shots ring out,  Everyone hearing people shout.  Two more, three more, four more.  The shooter blocking the door. 11 bodies laying there,  Lived one's later thinking this isn't fair. 
The souls of the many Were taken to the gates that day That day where a deranged boy decided to kill Looking out the window sill You don’t see their souls being carried up to the clouds But they are

It was a normal Friday morning.

The sun was shining on the bus window I was ready to relax as I walked through the doorway When I got inside my home I turned on the local news show I had no idea what they were going to say ...

It’s a barren cold winter Frozen and cracked across the surface Our breath stops in the air above us Our breath leaves us and huddles together in frigid air
Days pass and days end Glancing at the sun His beam, his hand of help Lighting our path for the day ahead
The sun arose as usual, bringing with it the pattering of small shoes followed by the clacking of heels down wooden corridors, to colorful rooms, for another day of learning.
I walk in the doors of his perpetual hell-hole. Just another day. Or so it seems. Halfway through first period, the teacher drones on and on. Pretending everything's okay. NO IT'S FUCKING NOT!
Round curls and shiny locks In gold, red, and brown Bounce on their foreheads As they skip and run through the halls.
