before which I was in awe, would stand tip toe in worship
adoring the lines of her ornate hand held ivory mirror
and silver hair brush; hands not folded in prayer
She looks up
His dancng eyes catch her smile
Others call them stupid
Stupid to save their "love"
The altar is waiting
For that kiss, first kiss
For they both know
