Happiness is a newborn child
Written in the softest pastels
Ever stitched by crippled hands.
You try your hardest to hold it,
Not to upset...
When words become inexplicable
And the intangible void
Begins to tear,
A silent mourning
Comes to rest within
The heart
Except,...
One still night,
In some stolen moment passed,
From my slumber
Mountained a hush and,
From this hush,
Rose death
His calloused grip
Sent...
Just as that moment of bliss
Found first thing in the morning -
Before reality breaks over the mind -
Soothes closed eyes and
Barely...
A threadbare silence wraps itself
Around my hearing,
Stopping the sounds that
Have submerged my skin and
It replaces the noises with
My own...
