Poems from caseyrb
can we leave it all behind for a second?
it’s hard for both of us to care, to
want anything new. everyone says we look the same,
two rowdy...
My dear, how I wish
I had eaten you, but
I waited in
smug naivete, so
in the belly of the beast
you were formed
alongside my weary soul...
painted, photographed
even mirrored
every limb is left unfinished.
let them wonder. let them wander down
the city streets like ribbed dogs...
gulps of salt, sputter, cough, the
air drifting past poison like nothing is there,
nothing at stake, as if
we can still save this, even...
we drift, posthumously
rowing in jagged form
watching the mother lay on her side,
down for,
oh,
a nap, in the grand scheme of things....
