Poems from Ravinder Kumar Soni
Today is my 79th birthday.
My learning process ended last night,
It ended
After seventy-eight long, very long years.
Today, when I woke...
I have no friend left.
Why did I burn the bridges?
Flimsy bridges,
Made of wood
That burns easily,
Inviting to be lit up with the touch...
Tell me it is all a lie,
A blatant lie -
The words I spoke
In praise of you,
Comparing you
To the sunset,
By calling you a ball of fire:...
I thought I reached home
Safely guided by starlight,
I thank my stars,
Nobody carried me to my room.
But, I do not see my shoes....
In front of my house,
A red brick wall stands witness
To my rising desires;
Overtime
It has not grown in height,
It has no graffiti...
