I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything.
I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college. I hope to publish a book someday as well (leave a comment if a poem speaks to you).

Tears stain the fake leather of my boots
the salt fringed watermarks where I left my heartstrings
There are so many marks I have left...
The heat wasn't working in my apartment today
Which normally would be just fine
Because see I like it a little cold
A little cold is just...
Some of us never really learn to fly
Some birds hop from the nest
Destined to taste earth
Destined for the fall
And some of us stay...
Sometimes I just want to wrap myself in poetry.
Curl into a ball so small you hardly notice as you pass by.
Curl up inside the stanzas...
