In the darkness, soft, you wait
Sleep is lost, oft quite late
Nightly, you grasp despair
Terrors chuckle in their lair
Numbers move around...
If love were water
I'd be a desert land
If tears were a map
I'd have my route planned
If pain were an ocean
I'd be the battered shore
If...
Peel away my mask
And you’ll find true tears.
All that I ask
Is that you let me fight my fears.
I’ll fall and drown deep
In nightmares of...
If you’ll take my hand,
I’ll take yours.
We’ll stumble and stand
and crawl on all fours.
But if you’ll be my light,
I’ll do right by you....
I beg, “Stay safe!”
