Captain Haldun was born and raised in Ortaköy, a small district located at the western shores of Bosporus in Istanbul. He has been in the marine life for over 40 years. He joined the Navy then he worked as a captain on merchant ships and held other duties such as cruise ship agency manager and a ship supplier in this field. He has been lecturing in Piri Reis University, Maritime Faculty since 2015.
